Power Wheels

Power Wheels are a great ride on toy for kids.  They are great for developing hand an eye coordination. And boy are they a ton of fun! What kid doesn't want to practice driving in their backyard or on a quiet neighborhood street. When I was little I had two different Power Wheels toys. My first was a three wheeler. I had a blast driving it around my yard. A few years later I got a bigger one. This time it was a Big Foot truck. I loved how this one could even run in the snow. My friends and I would race it around with snow balls in the back.

Today they have a huge variety of Power Wheels ride-on toys. Some of them are even perfect for toddlers. My son is almost two and he has a ball riding our neighbors Lil' Quad. This one is perfect for toddlers because you make it go with a little button for your thumb. When he holds the button in it moves and as soon as he lets go it comes to a stop. He figured it out very quickly and the smile on his face is priceless. We plan to get him one for his birthday. The Lil' Quad is great because even though it is little it can still go in the grass. So he will be completely safe in our fenced in backyard.

More About Power Wheels

Ride-On battery powered vehicles for kids began with a company called Pines of America. But, in 1984 a company named Kransco bought them out. In 1986 Kransco named the toys Power Wheels and it fit them perfectly. The power wheels toys became very popular and Kransco started selling about 1,000,000 per year. Then in 1994 Mattel bought Kransco and Power Wheels became a part of Fisher Price. Many of Fisher Price's Power Wheels even use popular character like Barbie, Dora and Lightning McQueen. They also make numerous Power Wheels based on real vehicles like Ford trucks and Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Wow what an awesome hub. My son is grown now, but he loved these "toys for little boys" They are not as expensive as the toys you get when you grow up! LOL

Love all the choices you have in here for the different types as well...

Enjoyed the article Jim, and may I add that Fisher Price is the one toy that’s almost indestructible…It has been one of the top children’s products for many years.

Thanks Wealth and Nancy, Fisher Price sure does make long lasting products. Power Wheels are a lot of fun for kids. I just wish I wasn't too big to ride on Tommy's.

Nice hub. My 3-year old grandson is fedup with paddling the tri-cycle. It is a good time to introduce him to such power wheels.

Power Wheels are awesome, I just bought my little girl the Barbie KFX ATV and we can't keep her off of it. The Monster Traction series are great wished I had one myself!

So giving them the opportunity to drive their own small, safe, powered vehicle will be hugely empowering. Fisher Power Wheels are the answer.
